Prune Juice
High in soluble fibre, prune juice has long been recognised as a healthy addition to your diet. Prunes are high in antioxidants called phenols and are believed to be beneficial to the tissues of the body. Phenols, studies suggest, are helpful in blocking oxygen-based free radicals from damaging the body’s fats. As skin cell and brain cell membranes are composed mostly of fats, drinking prune juice may help protect against cell damage to these vital areas. Beta-carotene, or Vitamin A, has a huge presence in prunes.
Cranberry Juice.
Cranberries are full of antioxidants, which protects cells from damage by unstable molecules called free radicals. Containing a good amount of vitamin c. the juice (unsweetened) can also help against urinary tract infection.
Aloe Vera Juice
Aloe vera juice contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12 (the aloe vera plant is one of the few plants in the world to contain vitamin B12), C, E, Folic Acid and Niacin. The minerals found in aloe vera include Calcium, Sodium, Iron, Potassium, Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Magnesium, Chromium. The human body requires 20 amino acids to build protein; 8 of these amino acids are ‘essential’ which means the body can’t make them itself. Aloe vera contains 19 of these amino acids, and 7 of the essential amino acids. So drinking aloe vera juice tops up your body’s daily supply.
Cherry Juice
Cherries contain at least 17 different antioxidants. Antioxidants are intimately involved in keeping our bodies healthy. Antioxidants are molecules which slow or prevent oxidation. Oxidation reactions can produce free radicals, which in turn start chain reactions that can damage cells. Cherries contain powerful antioxidants called anthocyanins that also give them their distinctive red colour. Of the 150 different flavonoids found in plants, anthocyanins appear to have the greatest antioxidant capacity. Tart cherries, like the Montmorency variety, are one of the richest sources of anthocyanins, containing more than sweet cherries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. Many people find cherry juice good for combating muscle fatigue from exercise and many sufferers of arthritis and gout have found it beneficial.
