September 2011

The cusp of Summer and Autumn.

End of holidays back to school. A time of change more fundamental then any other season for all. Great celebration in fat years concern and caution in lean ones. This year’s harvest will it be feast  or famine? The sparrows in our garden have done well with about 40 this season from 3 breeding pairs, their song and the vibrancy they bring is fantastic; but is there enough to go round?

A very busy month for us in Broad Bean.

Ludlow food festival in just 2 weeks time always bring thousands and thousand to the town.

Only 13 weeks to Christmas

We are putting finishing touches to orders for our ever popular Christmas Cake Kits. Several tons of dried fruits, nuts, sugars and flours will pass through the shop in the coming months. Last year 78 people made these cakes at home and had a truly delicious alternative to the bland mass produced offerings from supermarkets. The great thing about the kits.
